Dr. Abbott is a Board-Certified Child, Adolescent and Adult Psychiatrist licensed in Massachusetts and New Jersey. She is a graduate of the University of Virginia, Charlottesville and Rutger’s New Jersey Medical School, Newark.
Dr. Abbott completed her psychiatry residency at the Harvard Longwood Psychiatry Residency Training Program, Boston and her child psychiatry fellowship at Children’s Hospital, Boston.
Since completing her training, Dr. Abbott has practiced for over twenty years in inpatient, residential, and outpatient settings, both academic and non-academic. She has evaluated over 5,000 clients with a wide array of mental health issues.
For over thirty years Dr. Abbott has studied a variety of complementary practices including reiki, herbal remedies, nutritional supplements, acupuncture, hypnotism, breath work, yoga, light language, and other forms of energy healing, incorporating these practices as appropriate into her practice. She is a certified practitioner of reiki and light language.
Dr. Abbott was raised in New Jersey the sixth of eleven children and has three fabulous grown children. She enjoys comedy, cooking for family and friends, making stained glass art, and being in the great outdoors. She volunteers her services at a local women’s shelter.
